Dec 23, 2020 To Our Valued Customers, The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has necessitated many changes throughout our industry. Additional delays and expenses in shipping, in particular, have had a direct impact on all of us. In March, this year, industry complications directly related to Covid-19 forced UPS & FedEx to suspended their guarantees of service for all shipments from all origins to all destinations. Recently, both UPS and FedEx have implemented Covid-19 surcharges in addition to the annual increases in their shipping charges. For your budgeting purposes, we are notifying you of the following changes as they may apply to our shipping fees in the future. UPS Shipping Rate Changes Effective December 27, 2020, the published rates for UPS services will increase. The rates for UPS Ground, UPS Air and International services will increase an average net 4.9%. Effective January 10, 2021, an Additional Handling charge will be applied to any package with its length plus girth combined exceeding 105 inches. Effective April 11, 2021, Additional Handling and Large Package Surcharge rates for non-Hundredweight Service packages will differ by zone. Effective July 11, 2021, Additional Handling and Large Package Surcharge rates for Hundredweight Service packages will differ by zone. FedEx Shipping Rate Changes Effective Jan 4th, 2021, FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx SmartPost standard list rates will increase an average of 4.9%. Effective Jan. 18, 2021, There will be changes to how Additional Handling Surcharge is assessed for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground packages. Effective Feb. 1, 2021, There will be changes to how fuel is assessed for U.S. FedEx Express Freight shipments.
